The Dwarkamai

The Shri Sai Satcharita describes that Shri Sai Baba arrived at Shirdi, along with a marriage party in the year 1858. This was His second visit to Shirdi. Thereafter, He took up residence in a dilapidated Mosque situated in the village, which soon became the epicenter around which Shru Sai Baba’s life, as well as the life of His devotees revolved. Shri Sai Baba fondly named it Dwarkamai.

Shri Sai lit a Dhuni in the Dwarkamai and kept it burning continuously. He would sit in front of the Dhuni and mediate for His devotees with sincere prayers and offered them Udi as a sign of His blessings. A similar sight can be seen as we climb the steps of the Dwarkamai at Sai Ka Aangan, which was built in the year 2002. Sai devotees visit this place to feel the joy of being in the original home of Shri Sai Baba of Shirdi.

God always lives in our hearts
