A pioneer visionary in the gamut of travel trade, Mrs. Radha Bhatia, the dynamic Chairperson of the Bird Group is an entrepreneur par excellence.

A graduate from the reputed Sophia Girls School in Meerut with a Masters Degree in Psychology from Raghunath Girls College, Meerut, Mrs. Radha Bhatia taught for four years in her Alma Mater school before joining her husband Vijay Bhatia's expanding travel business.

Since then, her commitment to the travel trade has been visible in her ability to translate sound knowledge and experience of several years into real time projects. A rare pathfinder – Mrs. Bhatia has conceived several new and successful organizations within the BPO, technology and travel segments.

Mrs. Radha Bhatia is also the force behind The Bird Academy, a vibrant vertical of the Bird Group founded in 1998 with a vision to create a pool of talent with specialized knowledge and skills required by the travel and related industries. Since its inception, it has constantly enriched and enlarged its activities and offered more than 20,000 trained professionals who are now occupying executive positions in travel, tourism and related sectors of the economy in India and abroad. An entrepreneur who has held many important positions in her long and successful career, Mrs. Radha Bhatia is the founder member of the World Travel & Tourism Council India Initiative and she still holds the distinction of being the former Chairman of the Council.

Mrs. Radha Bhatia is also the Vice Chairperson of Export Software Council, North India.

Mrs. Radha Bhatia holds the prestigious position of the Honorary Consul of Solomon Islands in India after having been selected by the Government of Solomon Islands to represent their country. She is the first woman to hold this distinction in India.

Mrs. Bhatia has been the Past President of Udyog Vihar Industries Association and remains a lifetime patron of the same.

Mrs. Bhatia is also deeply associated with various professional associations such as CII, EBG, ASSOCHAM, FICCI, PHD, IACC, FIEO, Export Software Council North India, Indo American Chamber of Commerce and the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce. Mrs. Bhatia is also the Chairwoman for the CII IWN (Indian Women Network) Delhi Chapter. Mrs. Bhatia is also the President for Women In Aviation India Chapter. Women in Aviation International, is a non-profit organization dedicated to the encouragement and advancement of women in all aviation career fields and interests.

A recipient of many prestigious accolades, she also holds the distinction of being awarded The Outstanding Woman Entrepreneur of the Year for 9 years till 2007.

A woman of myriad interests – Mrs. Bhatia is a keen lover of music and art, indulging in painting and playing the sitar. She enjoys gardening and cooking over the weekend and spending time with her grand-children. Married to Vijay Bhatia – she has two sons, Ankur and Gaurav Bhatia.

Besides her wide range of professional achievements, Mrs. Bhatia is a dedicated social worker who always puts her best foot forward for the cause of underprivileged children. From donating computers to schools for orphans to contributing towards the welfare of children afflicted with leprosy – Mrs. Bhatia is a large hearted philanthropist. She has also been awarded the Social Responsibility Award 2015 at the India Excellence Awards because of her valuable contribution to the society. With her dedication and keen interest in giving back to the society, Mrs. Bhatia formed "WE" under the auspices of the Bird Foundation. The Group organized the "We" conference to bring eminent female achievers together on a common platform to discuss how their accomplishments can guide and influence the women of today, and thus taking women empowerment to another level.

Mrs. Radha Bhatia is selflessly committed to the cause of education for slum dwelling children. The Bird Academy imparts free of cost IT education to underprivileged children to create future employment prospects for them.

A firm believer in creating a clean and green environment, Mrs. Radha Bhatia has also in the past participated in various plantation events, educating people about its intrinsic importance.

Balancing both roles as a home-maker and a successful entrepreneur, Mrs. Bhatia believes that organizing one's time and priorities and trusting the right people is the mantra to create a harmonious work life balance. Her innate vision is to be a source of inspiration for the diverse Bird family and to work together for the future growth of the Bird Group.
